Final Post-EDUC-6357

One hope that I have when working with young children and their families would be that there would be equality, that we would accept each other for WHO we are and not WHERE we come from.

Goal: Diversity needs to be included in all aspects of curriculum. All preschool teachers would be required to include diversity and multicultural activities in the areas of music, clothing, food, games, dramatic play, and celebrations.

Thanks to all of my classmates, thanks for your support, resources, and information that you have provided the class. Hope to see some familiar names in my next class.

  1. Tinka-I like your hope, it is a simple statement with so much power behind it. I believe with you taking these courses you are already starting on your goal. Just a few steps at a time and you can accomplish your goal and hopefully encourage others around you to follow your lead. Good luck with your goal and I hope to see you Monday in class too!!

  2. Tinka,

I too hope that regardless of their diverse backgrounds, all children and families will be accepted and respected. I also agree that all early childhood programs should implement an anti-bias curriculum in which activities, celebrations, and classroom materials reflect the diverse families that are in the program. I have enjoyed sharing this class with you. Best wishes in your future endeavors, and I hope to see you in the next class!!

  3. Tinka I really like you hope. It's important that people respect each others differences. Your goal of including diversity in all aspects of curriculum is also important. If we can reach children at a younger age and open their minds to diversity, then I think we have a better chance of seeing positive changes with regards to tolerance. I'm glad we were in class together again.
